“Cultural Icons of Detroit” (IS 320B) will be offered in Fall 2012 at Marygrove College

A Fall 2012 course called “Cultural Icons of Detroit” has just been announced. Professor Dena Scher and librarian Christine Malmsten will lead the students in this IS 320B course in an interdisciplinary look at Detroit’s cultural institutions, each of which will serve as a focal point for the study of historical context, architecture, and artistic performance. Selected venues may include the Detroit Institute of Arts, Detroit Public Library, Orchestra Hall, and Marygrove College.

This 3-credit course will meet on selected Fridays from 9:30 am – 3:30 pm: September 14 and 28, October 12 and 26, November 9 and 16, and December 7. ENG 108 is the only prerequisite, and there is a $100 course fee.
